Authorities have placed the majority of the country under a yellow alert, as an intense thunderstorm is expected to bring heavy showers, strong winds and even hail to some parts of Belgium from Friday morning.
The alert was activated by The Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) from 8:00 AM to 23:00, and it concerns all of Belgium with the exception of the coast, according to Le Soir.
The thunderstorm is expected to hit Belgium during the course of the day, and the IRM has warned that it will bring abundant rainfall and heavy gusts of wind and hail.
The sky on Saturday will remain overcast on the eastern part of the country, and the western sky is expected to clear out as the storm passes.
The non-emergency telephone line to contact the fire brigade (1722) has also been activated.
