Ukrainian billionaire pays 2.5 million for settlement with Belgian courts

Ukrainian billionaire Oleksander Onyshchenko, former president of the Ukrainian Equestrian Federation, has paid 2.5 million euros to Belgian courts, reveals La Dernière Heure on Monday. He was arrested in Bierset in 2007 for money laundering, forgery, tax fraud, and misappropriation.

The businessman was released after he paid 250,000 euros in bail. No doubt hoping to avoid sentencing in Belgium, Mr. Onyshchenko recently agreed a 2.5-million settlement with Belgian courts, explains La Dernière Heure.
