A 40 year old man in Liège tried to kill his neighbour on Saturday. The neighbour had reported him to the police for assault. The suspect will have to appear before the Liège Correctional Tribunal to answer those accusations, the Liège Prosecutor’s Office has said.
The man was at his house with friends Saturday lunchtime, and said he was going to walk the dog for five minutes. Instead of doing that, he went to his neighbour’s – he had already broken the door, which no longer closed – and tried to stab him in the throat. The victim protected himself with his arm which could injured.
After this, the suspect went home.
The Prosecutor’s Office said the apartment was covered in blood. The suspect was taken into custody and the Investigating judge wants to charge him with attempted murder. The Prosecutor’s Office also requested a medical examiner.
The man already had a record for violence. He is not cooperating with the inquiry.
