The funeral of the former mayor of Mouscron, Jean-Pierre Detremmerie (who has died aged 75), will take place at 10a.m. at the church Notre-Dame Reine de la Paix (Our Lady Queen of Peace) on Rue de la Coquinie in Mouscron.
It is somewhat ironic but the Tournai court in chambers will make its referral order before the Criminal Court in the case of covert funding of the now defunct Royal Excelsior Mouscron football club (the Excelsior football club) Detremmerie was charged with forgery, making used of forged documents with intent to defraud, misappropriation and fraudulent conversion. He ended his life between Saturday night and to early Sunday morning.

Although the criminal proceedings against the former President of the Excelsior football club have died with him, Francis D’Haese (ex Acting President) and Thierry Knockaert (the former club accountant) might still have to appear before the Tournai Criminal Court.
