Brussels informants Rudi Vervoort and Laurette Onkelinx (PS) had announced it a week ago: negotiations on forming a capital region government will begin on Monday.
According to Brussels’ outgoing Minister-President Vervoort, the first exchanges between the PS, Ecolo and Défi, on the francophone side and Groen, Open VLD and one.brussels, on the Flemish side, will be held on Monday at 2.30 pm in Brussels parliament.
Brussels’ informants had proposed, by letter of intent sent to Ecolo and Défi a week ago, to enter into negotiations for the formation of a Brussels region government. These two groups gave the green light within a few hours.
As for the Flemish, the Greens, Liberals and Socialists had already decided previously to enter into negotiations in order to constitute the Flemish wing of the majority.
Vervoort will lead, alongside of Elke Van den Brandt (Groen). Laurette Onkelinx becomes PS negotiator.
