The judicial indictment division of Brussels made the European arrest warrant issued by French authorities for Mohamed Bakkali enforceable Thursday, stated at approximately 15:45 the Federal Prosecutor’s Office. Mohamed Bakkali, aged 29, is one of the suspects in the investigation of the attacks in Paris last November. Mohamed Bakkali was arrested in Brussels last November 26th and accused of terrorist assassinations and of participating in the activities of a terrorist group. According to the investigation, he had rented an apartment at rue Henri Bergé, in Schaerbeek, where the fingerprints of Salah Abdeslam were found last December 10th in a police search.
Moreover, a car that Mohamed Bakkali had rented was seen in the vicinity of some residences which served for preparing for the attacks in Paris, at Charleroi and at Auvelais, but the supposed role of the suspect in this case remains unclear. Investigators also discovered at his residence a video demonstrating espionage of a person working at a nuclear site in Mol.
Finally, the suspect had also rented an apartment at rue Max Roos in Schaerbeek, where the El Bakraoui brothers stayed prior to the attacks in Brussels last March.
