The exhibition 'Histoire de ne pas rire. Surrealism in Belgium' at Bozar has attracted 100,000 visitors since it opened in February. In view of this success, the venue will be organising late-night opening hours for the last four days, from 13 to 16 June, from 18:00 to 22:00.
The exhibition honours 100 years of surrealism in Belgium and pays particular attention to the contacts between Belgian artists and international surrealists. The Palais des Beaux-Arts is hosting 260 works from artists such as René Magritte, Jane Graverol, Marcel Mariën, Rachel Baes, Paul Delvaux, E. L. T. Mesens, as well as Max Ernst, Salvador Dali and Giorgio De Chirico.
Drawing in 100,000 visitors in less than four months makes 'Histoire de ne pas rire' one of the most popular exhibitions at Bozar in recent years. Recognised and critically acclaimed by both The New York Times and Le Monde, the show has garnered international attention.
