Eighteen Belgian sparkling wines have been awarded at the Brussels World Competition (CMB).

More than 900 sparkling wines from 24 countries competed in this “bubbles” session. A record-breaking 41% of the Belgian wines that entered won awards. Ten received gold medals, and eight were awarded silver, as judged by an international jury of 50 tasters.

Despite its name, the Brussels World Competition takes place in several countries. This international contest is divided into four sessions, during which over 10,000 wines registered by producers are blind-tested by a panel of experts.

Earlier in the year, four Belgian wines were recognised at the CMB’s Rosé Wine session, and eight at the Red and White Wine session.

In total, Belgian wines have collected 30 medals.
