Tintin drawing sold for €145,000

A drawing of Tintin and Captain Haddock in space, by Hergé, was sold for 145,500 euros at French auction house Daniel Maghen on Thursday.

The black and white drawing was made in 1952 by Belgian cartoonist Georges Prosper Remi, known as Hergé.

Tintin is seen standing on the side of the famous rocket from the album "We walked on the moon", holding Captain Haddock by a rope, while he risks drifting into the cosmos.

The Earth is visible in the background, at a time when the only photo of the planet from space shows only part of the globe.

The sales record for a Hergé work stands at 770,660 euros for a drawing of "Tintin in Congo" sold in 2015.
