Under Belgian skies, the search for life beyond Earth

From the red dwarves of distant solar systems to the quiet domes of Uccle, Belgian astronomers are scanning the heavens for signs that life is not unique to Earth. Their work spans light-years and centuries, from hunting alien atmospheres to tracking sunspots and earthquakes. We find out how, in studying the vastness of space, they are also learning how small, rare and precious our own planet may be.
