The dress worn by Jada Pinkett Smith on the red carpet of the much-discussed 94th Academy Awards on Sunday night was designed by Belgian designer Glenn Martens.

Graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Martens is now the Creative Director of Y/Project and Diesel and designed the long-sleeved emerald dress for Jean Paul Gaultier's Couture Spring/Summer 2022 collection.

“We rarely have the opportunity to put together such elaborate silhouettes," Martens told L'Officiel USA about the collection that includes Pinkett Smith's gown. "For me, couture means pure beauty and elegance."

Pinkett Smith and her husband Will Smith attended this year's Oscars in support of the movie 'King Richard.' Both Smiths are credited as executive producers on the film, and Will Smith played the titular role of Richard Williams, the father of world-famous tennis players Venus and Serena Williams.

Will Smith won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role, but mainly made headlines for smacking presenter Chris Rock in the face on stage, after the latter made a joke referencing Pinkett Smith's hair loss.
