Princess Maria Laura, the daughter of Princess Astrid (King Philippe's sister) and Prince Lorenz, will marry British-French William Isvy on 10 September. The wedding will take place in the Cathedral of Saint Michael and Saint Gudula in Brussels.

Maria Laura (33) is King Philippe's niece and is also one of five children born to Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz. Her marriage to Isvy was announced at the end of last year.

Similar to her cousins, King Philippe's children, the Princess went to to school at Collège Saint-Jean-Berchmans in Brussels, after which she studied sinology at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London.

She is known to have spent some time in China and now works as a climate analyst at the NGO Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF). Maria Laura is the second eldest child of Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz after her brother Amadeo and lives in London.

King Philippe gave her his blessing to marry Isvy on 31 January. Permission from the Crown is necessary for Princess Maria Laura to remain in the line of accession, in which she is in ninth place.

Traveling and playing tennis

The groom-to-be William Isvy was born in Paris but has spent most of his life in London, where he has worked in wealth management. Like his future wife, Isvy is a fan of travelling and playing tennis.

Last year, the wedding's announcement came as a surprise because similar to her siblings, Princess Maria Laura stays out of the limelight.
