The Wintergloed festival will once again be lighting up the city of Bruges from 24 November to 7 January.

This year, for the fifth time, the light trail will plunge visitors into a magical world inspired by the Northern Lights. An ice rink, a winter bar and two Christmas markets will also be making a comeback.

"We will once again ensure that our residents and visitors can enjoy a warm and friendly end-of-year atmosphere," stresses the Mayor of Bruges, Dirk De fauw. "The light trail, the Christmas market, the ice rink, the winter bar, Christmas shopping… all these elements will combine to create a magical end-of-year atmosphere in Bruges."

This year, the "Aurora" light trail draws its inspiration from the Northern Lights. No fewer than ten light installations will be dotted around the city centre, along a 2.5-kilometre promenade.

"The route has been entirely custom-designed for the City of Bruges. The aim is to immerse every visitor in another world and provide them with an unforgettable experience," explains Franky Demon, co-organiser of the event.
