The 29th edition of the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) awarded the Golden Mirror for Best Feature Film to the black comedy 'Humanist Vampire Seeks Consensual Suicidal', directed by Ariane Louis-Seize. A Belgian show also won Best Series.

In her debut feature-length film, Quebec director Ariane Louis-Seize shares the tale of Sacha, a humanist vampire too tender-hearted to kill people. The jury, led by Lausanne director Stéphanie Chuat, praised the film as a "genuine tribute to genre films and an ode to neurodiversity."

The international series competition also rewarded Belgian series 'The Club', written by Leander Verdievel and Zita Theunynck. This subtle yet jovial account of the ups and downs faced by couples undergoing fertility treatment secured the Golden Mirror for Best Series, carrying a prize of 10,000 Swiss francs.

Although GIFF concludes in cinemas on Sunday, its online itinerary programme will continue until December.
