He is also co-creator of the profession and training of eco-counsellors (Eco-Counselling Institute), supported by Wallonie-Bruxelles in 1989 (in the past 30 years, 1,000 eco-counsellors have found employment). He has also been the promoter of communal eco-counselling services, river maintenance contracts, and training in environment issues for communal police and agents of the Nature and Forestry Division. As representative of the executive agency of the Belgian Ministry of Cooperation and Development, he has also managed large-scale programmes of biodiversity, forestry, environment, and durable development in Peru, Equator, Salvador, Haiti, Senegal … For example, in Haiti, his work led to the decision to re-locate a social housing construction project initially planned within a mangrove forest, to another site not detrimental to natural resources.
