Club Brugge announced on Monday that it would "do everything possible" to identify and ban from the stadium the supporters who hurled racist insults at Vincent Kompany, staff and players of Anderlecht during Sunday's 2-2 draw.
"Already on Sunday, after the match, Club Brugge explicitly condemned all forms of racism. Following yesterday's events, Club Brugge announces that, with the support of the competent authorities, all necessary steps will be taken to identify the perpetrators and impose a stadium ban on them, as has already been done in the past," Club Brugge said on its website.
The Bruges police will draw up a report, Belga News Agency reports.
After the match between Club Brugge and Anderlecht on Sunday, Vincent Kompany confirmed the incident.
"I'm going home disgusted and disappointed. My players, my staff and I were subjected to racist insults. They shouted 'black monkey'. I don't want to comment on the match. I just want to get together with my staff, to stay with the people who matter to me. We shouldn't have to go through this again today," said the Anderlecht coach.
