All vaccination centres in Wallonia are now open without the need for an appointment from Wednesday 19 January, in an effort to increase the administration Covid-19 booster doses and to encourage new vaccinations, Walloon Health Minister Christie Morreale said in a statement.
The walk-in slots will be permanent in all centres, Belga News Agency reports, except for the slots reserved for the vaccination of children aged 5 – 11. Those vaccinations will take place on Wednesdays from 14:00 to 17:00 and on Saturday mornings until 12:00.
Visitors will need to present their identity card and an invitation. For those who prefer to make an appointment, that can be done via the official website, which also provides information on the times and addresses of the vaccination centres, or by calling the free number 0800/45 019.

So far, 72% of the Walloon population aged 18 and over has been vaccinated or has made an appointment in the next few days. That rate rises to 88% for immunocompromised people and 90% for people aged 65 and over.
As for the vaccination of children aged 5 – 11, which starts fully this Wednesday in Wallonia after a pilot phase, nearly 15,000 paediatric doses are scheduled this week in all the centres, which are fully booked until the end of the month.
In total, nearly 30,000 appointments have already been made, which represents almost 10% of children aged between five and 11 in Wallonia.
