The number of registered unemployed individuals rose by 5.4% in November compared to the same period last year, according to monthly figures released by the National Employment Office (ONEM) on Monday.
A total of 287,387 unemployed job seekers received unemployment benefits, which is 14,723 more than in November 2023.
The annual increase in the number of unemployed individuals is most noticeable in Flanders, with an 11.3% rise (10,808 people).
The figure remains almost stable in Wallonia, with a 0.6% increase (670 people).
In the Brussels-Capital Region, there has been a 5.6% rise (3,245 people).
The ONEM recorded 106,528 fully unemployed individuals in the Flemish Region, 119,968 in the Walloon Region, and 60,891 in the Brussels-Capital Region.
