Belfius will lower its base interest rate and loyalty bonus on savings accounts starting 1 February.
The ‘Fidelity savings account’ will not be affected. The bank announced the changes in a press release on Tuesday.
The base interest rate on the standard savings account will decrease from 0.55% to 0.50%.
The loyalty bonus will drop from 0.55% to 0.40%. Belfius cited changes in the financial markets’ interest rates as the reason for the adjustments.
