As the Consultative Committee will likely announce the end of the Covid Safe Ticket (CST) when Belgium moves into 'code yellow', Federal Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke warned that it should not be thrown away completely.
Most restrictions will be lifted when the country switches to code yellow, most notably the requirement to present a valid CST to gain access to events, theatres, the hospitality industry and gyms.
The CST will disappear "as agreed," Vandenbroucke told VRT. However, he added that it will likely not go away forever: "I think you should put the umbrella away when the sun shines, but not bring it to the container park. You might need it again one day. For me, the CST goes in the umbrella stand."

He stressed that most of the measures will be dropped because the country is "now in a safer situation, thanks to the efforts that people have been making for a very long time."
Additionally, code yellow means that clients would no longer be required to wear masks in shops, and children could leave theirs at home when they go to school. "The point of discussion now is wearing masks on public transport," Vandenbroucke said.
The Consultative Committee will hold a press conference to announce its decisions from 16:00, a spokesperson for Prime Minister Alexander De Croo announced. An overview of all topics that were on the table can be found here.
