RSC Anderlecht are top of the Jupiler Pro League Champions play-offs table for the first time this season after a third-round 2-1 victory over Union Saint-Gilloise (USG) in the Brussels derby on Sunday night.

The match saw a first goal from Kasper Dolberg (11'), followed by a red card for Zeno Debast (65') issued for an elbow on Gustaf Nilsson. Cameron Puertas then converted the subsequent penalty but Francis Amuzu scored again at 76' to make it 2-1, ensuring Anderlecht's first derby win in ten games since Union's D1A return.

USG, who had led since the tenth game of the regular season, now find themselves three points behind Anderlecht, currently leading with 38 points. This follows USG's three consecutive play-off defeats, where points from the regular season are halved as the top 6 play against each other to win the league.

However, the game was not without loss for Anderlecht, as they lost Thorgan Hazard to a knee injury. Removed from play at 37 minutes, there are concerns about a lengthy absence for the former Golden Shoe recipient.

USG now hold a slim two-point lead over FC Bruges, triumphant in their 3-0 game against Antwerp. Genk is in fourth position with 31 points following their 1-1 draw against Cercle, who are fifth with 29 points. Antwerp is sixth on 26 points.
