The Belgian National Railway Company (SNCB) has added a new feature to its journey planner highlighting train composition for selected journeys since this Friday 19 April.

This update, currently available on the planner’s website only, informs passengers about the number of carriages, the location of the bicycle carriage, as well as the first-class carriage.

The company intends to integrate this feature into its dedicated application "in the coming months." Additionally, train composition details will be progressively displayed on information screens across platforms.

Passengers could already try out this new tool via the SNCB Lab, an application launched in November that allows the public to test innovations before incorporating them into the official app.

In parallel, the railway company has updated BikeOnTrain, its dedicated planning application for cyclists launched two years ago. In the new version, the planner indicates if a station is bicycle-accessible, i.e. equipped with lifts or accessible paths to platforms.
