The travelling event Bruxelles fait son cinéma will return from 26 June to 16 July, ASBL Libération Films announced in a press release on Monday. For the first time, the cinema will be stopping off in the 19 communes of Brussels.

‘Launched in 2001, Bruxelles fait son cinéma is a travelling open-air cinema inspired by an old tradition from Mediterranean countries’, explains the organisation. "This activity is intended to be a meeting place where a modest attempt is made to encourage people to live together and to maintain or recreate a friendly relationship between residents."

Free screenings include Linda veut du poulet by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach, Une année difficile by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, Anatomie d’une chute by Justine Triet and Le règne animal by Thomas Caillet.

"The aim of the films on offer, in consultation with the cultural departments and/or cultural centres of the partner municipalities, is to bring quality cinema to an audience that is sometimes not very well informed," says the ASBL.

The screenings will start at dusk and will all be accessible to people with reduced mobility.
