The Office of the public prosecutor on Friday called on the Liège Correctional Court to slap a nine-year prison sentence on a 53-year-old Oupeye resident accused of repeatedly raping his daughter.
The man is accused by his daughter of raping her on multiple occasions starting in 2010, when she was just six. The victim said the abuse continued for 12 years.
The victim's paternal grandfather had already raped her as a child. After he was imprisoned, her father took over.
The young girl denounced the abuse after she left her parents' home.
The investigation showed that the accused kept a small notebook in which he recorded his sexual encounters and masturbatory acts, which he then rated.
In his defence, the accused claimed that gratuitous accusations had been made against him following a disagreement with his daughter's mother. His lawyer pleaded for his acquittal.
Judgment will be handed down on 7 June.
