Former bassist and founding member of American pop band Train Charlie Colin (58) has died while in Brussels. Colin's sister Carolyn Stephens confirmed his death to the Associated Press on Wednesday.
The musician was house sitting for friends and reportedly slipped and fell in the shower, where he was discovered five days later.
He was staying in the city while teaching music in a conservatory. Tributes to the late singer are pouring out on social media.
"He was THE sweetest guy and what a handsome chap," wrote Train's lead singer Patrick Monahan via the band's official account.
"His unique bass playing and beautiful guitar work helped get folks to notice us in SF and beyond [...] You’re a legend, Charlie. Go charm the pants off those angels."

Colin co-founded Train in 1993 but left the band in 2003 due to substance abuse issues. The group is best-known for its hits 'Drops of Jupiter', 'Hey, Soul Sister' and 'Drive By'. The former won a Grammy for Best Rock Song in 2002.
In March, Colin referred to Brussels as "officially my favourite city" in an Instagram post.
