All over the age of five in the UK displaying symptoms of the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) can now be tested for coronavirus, Health Secretary Matt Hancock has announced, according to UK media.
"Today I can announce to the house that everyone aged 5 and over with symptoms is now eligible for a test," said Hancock in Parliament, adding that it applies right across all 4 nations of the UK.
"Anyone with a new continuous cough, a high-temperature of the loss or change of sense of taste or smell can book a test," he added. This news follows earlier moves in the UK government to officially make a loss of taste and smell an official symptom of the coronavirus.
