The Royal Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow rainfall alert for the provinces of Liège, Luxembourg, and Namur on Saturday.
This concerns the south-eastern and eastern regions of the country from Saturday afternoon.
A particularly active weather front is expected to affect the south-eastern territories, predominantly the provinces of Luxembourg and Liège, coupled with the eastern region of Namur. Intense rainfall, sometimes stormy, is predicted in these areas.
Quantities may exceed 20mm within 6 hours or 25-50mm within 24 hours in various locations. At certain points, there may even be more than 50mm of accumulated rainfall during the entirety of the situation.

By Sunday morning, the rainfall is expected to cease across the east of the country, restoring dry conditions nationwide.
Due to this alert, the number 1722 has been activated, adds the Public Federal Service Interior. This number is recommended to report storm damage or water damage necessitating firefighter intervention. Requests can be submitted either through the e-counter at www.1722.be or by calling 1722.
Authorities emphasize that 112 should be called if life is potentially at risk (risk of collapsing structures, public way danger, fire risk, or incidents with casualties).
