The National Lottery unveiled its new scratch card, 'Lady Fortuna' on Friday, combining luck with a social commitment to improving women’s condition.

The name refers to the goddess of luck, often depicted holding a cornucopia – the very symbol that inspired the National Lottery’s logo.

Since its establishment, the Lottery has been allocating all its profits towards social bonding and community development. According to its managing director, Jannie Haek, Lady Fortuna aims to establish a “direct link between players and our good causes.”

Players can vote for a charity of their choice by scanning the QR code on the reverse side of the ticket. This code redirects players to a website showcasing a selection of charities working towards improving women’s conditions. Voting is limited to one vote per person during each selection phase, and the voting process will be carried out in four phases before the final round in Autumn 2025.

About 20 charities were chosen to participate based on specific criteria such as the relevance of their projects, geographic distribution, and recognition in the field.

The first five charities involved are: Think-Pink, a breast cancer charity; 'Elles tournent, Dames draaien,' which advocates for women’s role in audiovisual arts; Amazone, a gender equality charity; ASBL Bruzelle, combatting menstrual poverty; and the Flemish Basketball Federation, which is promoting female referees.

The tickets, which will be available from 2 September, cost €20 per pack of 20 with a guaranteed minimum prize of €5, and offer the opportunity to come away with with prizes of up to €500,000.
