At the request of the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office and in collaboration with Child Focus, capital police are calling on members of the public to provide them with any information they may have about a 16-year-old girl from Uccle who has been missing since Tuesday afternoon.

Safia Cherkaoui (16) left her school, the Institut Communal Professionnel des Polders, located on Poldersstraat in Uccle, at around 2.20 pm. She has not been seen since.

Safia is about 1.63 metre tall, and slim. She has shoulder-length black hair and wears dark rectangular glasses. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a mid-length black coat, a light pink jumper, blue jeans with pockets, white trainers, and a purple Eastpak backpack.

According to the police, Safia may appear normal and give coherent answers, while she may actually be confused and disoriented.

Anyone who has seen her or knows where she might be is urged to contact investigators via the email address avisderecherche@police.belgium.eu, the toll free number 800/30.300, or Child Focus at 116000.
