The second edition of the contemporary art fair "The Solo Project" will be held from 5 to 8 December 2024 at the Vanderborght Space near Brussels-Central Station, the organisers announced on Tuesday.
The event invites both national and international art galleries to present one or more artists. The focus of this fair is firmly on individual presentations, providing galleries with a platform to showcase a coherent series of works, according to the organisers.
The Vanderborght Space will be redesigned for the occasion. The artworks will encompass all contemporary art disciplines, including photography, painting, sculpture, and installation.
Simultaneously, the first edition of the exhibition Emerging Artistic Talents will take place. This exhibition aims to highlight young artistic talents, allowing them to showcase their work to the public and establish their presence in the contemporary art scene.
LUCA School of Arts Brussels, ArBA-EsA Brussels, Beaux-Arts Liège, and Copper & Light Leuven have each appointed a curator to select 72 young graduates or final-year students to participate.
Following several editions of "The Solo Project" in Basel, Switzerland, project initiator Paul Kusseneers decided to move the fair to Brussels, with the first edition held in 2022.
