A man in his 70s was fatally hit on Saturday night by a motorist on Rue de Marbaix in Ham-sur-Heure/Nalinnes (Hainaut), the Charleroi Public Prosecutor's Office said on Sunday afternoon. The driver is still at large.
A resident of Rue de Marbaix in Ham-sur-Heure/Nalinnes was fatally hit at around 01:00 on Saturday night. He was crossing the road towards his house after parking his vehicle.
"The victim was dragged for 40 metres," said the Charleroi Public Prosecutor's Office on Sunday afternoon.
A car expert visited the scene of the accident. A forensic doctor carried out an external examination of the victim's body.
The Charleroi judicial authority has confirmed that the motorist who caused the accident is still at large.
