A car and train collided at a level crossing in Ingelmunster (West Flanders) at around 06:00 on Monday, Belga News Agency reported.
The car was at the Duikerstraat level crossing in Ingelmunster and was hit by the Kortrijk-Oostende train.
The exact circumstances of the accident are still under investigation. However, it is already certain that the level crossing was functioning as it should.
Train traffic between Kortrijk and Roeselare was interrupted following the accident. Traffic resumed just before 09:00, railway network manager Infrabel reported.
