Some 200 workers from subcontracting companies at the Audi Forest plant have been blocking the four entrances to the site since 05:15 on Friday.

The workers are protesting against the redundancy plan proposed by their companies, which they believe falls well short of the one offered to Audi workers.

Workers from four subcontractors are taking part in the action. These include Rhenus, DP World (Imperial Logistics), Mosolf, and SeSe.

The workers believe the one-time bonuses being offered are too low. At Imperial Logistics, which is part of the DP World group, bonuses range from €962 to €3,500 gross, equating to €200 to €300 gross per year of service. Similar figures have been cited by union representatives for Rhenus Logistics.

Imperial Logistics and Rhenus Logistics employ a total of 400 people. All jobs at these two companies are under threat.

A meeting is currently taking place between union representatives of the subcontractors and management at the car manufacturing site.
