A 26-year-old driver from Geetbets was killed in a serious traffic accident in Hasselt late Friday night.
The Limburg public prosecutor’s office confirmed the incident on Saturday.
The South-West Limburg emergency zone fire brigade was called to the scene at around 23:45 to free a passenger from a vehicle on Runksterkiezel in Hasselt.
Despite their efforts, the person in the car had already died at the scene. The accident involved a Porsche which first hit a tree on the left side of the road and then came to a stop against a hedge on the opposite side.
Local police from the Limburg Region Capital (LRH) zone conducted the necessary investigations.
