On Sunday, the Hamas-run Ministry of Health for the Gaza Strip announced the deaths of four people in Israeli army attacks “since the morning”, amidst a dispute between the warring factions over the continuation of the ceasefire.

The ministry reported that “since this morning, four dead and six injured” have been taken “to hospitals in the Gaza Strip following Israeli attacks in various parts of the territory”.

Earlier, the Gaza Civil Defence reported “artillery shelling and tank fire from Israeli forces targeting areas on the outskirts of the town of Abassan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis” in southern Gaza.

However, an Israeli army spokesperson stated, “After verification, we have no knowledge of any artillery shelling in that area.”

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported one death and one injury in “an Israeli drone strike on civilians” in the same area, and another death and two injuries in Al-Farahin, another locality east of Khan Younis.

The Israeli army also announced that it conducted an airstrike in an unspecified area of northern Gaza against “several suspects (…) placing an explosive device” where Israeli soldiers are stationed.

The Red Crescent said it retrieved the bodies of two people killed in Beit Hanoun, near the buffer zone maintained by the Israeli army within Gaza along the Israeli border.
