Engineering works will disrupt train services between Ghent and Brussels over the next two weekends, railway network operator Infrabel announced on Wednesday.

Infrabel is working on renewing the waterproofing and masonry arches on the Warmoezeniersbrug between Ghent and Melle. Maintenance and renewal work is also being carried out on the tracks, points and overhead lines.

Train services will not be interrupted. However, the departure times of a number of trains will be changed or the route will be shortened on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May, and Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May.

Intercity trains between Knokke, Brussels and Leuven will only run between Brussels-Midi and Leuven. Passengers travelling between Knokke, Bruges and Brussels-Midi will have to take another train.

The S52 trains between Gent-Sint-Pieters and Geraardsbergen will only run between Melle and Geraardsbergen. Passengers can take another train between Gent-Sint-Pieters and Melle.

Infrabel advises passengers to consult the SNCB/NMBS online travel planner.
