The Turnhout Correctional Court has sentenced a 44-year-old man from Herselt to 36 months in prison and a fine of €16,000 for selling cocaine and amphetamines, and possessing prohibited weapons.
His partner, a 34-year-old woman from Olen, received an 18-month prison sentence and an €8,000 fine for her involvement in drug trafficking.
The investigation into their case began in March 2023 after police received information that the man was selling drugs in the car park of the Millenium night club in Herselt.
During two nights of observation, police noticed that the lights of his vehicle flashed repeatedly without the vehicle moving.
Investigations revealed that the defendant was selling cocaine and amphetamines.
A house search in April 2024 uncovered a telescopic baton. Previously, the man had been found in possession of a knuckle-duster and a knife with a locking mechanism.
