The mayor of Anderlecht, Fabrice Cumps, has banned "the presence of Club Brugge supporters during the match on 18 May" following recent violent incidents.

In the league, RSC Anderlecht are set to face Club Brugge again on that Sunday. This decision comes after clashes erupted in Brussels last Sunday during the Belgian Cup final between Brugge and Anderlecht at the King Baudouin Stadium.

Fans of the West Flemish club targeted passers-by and businesses in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean and Jette. Later, there were reports of retaliatory actions by Brussels youths against Brugge supporters.

Cumps stated that "due to the unacceptable behaviour of certain so-called supporters during the Belgian Cup final and the associated risks to public order," Club Brugge supporters will not be allowed.

The aim is to protect residents and RSCA supporters, preventing a repeat of last weekend’s shocking scenes.

The Midi police zone, which includes Anderlecht, has been instructed by Cumps to collaborate with colleagues and RSCA representatives to implement this measure effectively.
