Homeless man dies at Brussels Metro station

A homeless man lost his life on Friday morning in the Mérode metro station in the Brussels municipality of Etterbeek.

An unresponsive person sleeping rough inside the station was noticed in the morning by STIB.

Alerted to the incident, emergency services attempted to resuscitate the man, but were ultimately unsuccessful.

The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear.

The investigation is in the hands of the federal transport police, who confirmed Bruzz's initial report.
