The famed rooftop of the Bozar Centre for Fine Arts has revealed the sensational programme for its cultural summer bar that opens to the public on Thursday.
Open continuously over the 3-month long period until 28 September, the suspended space forms a scene for Brussels' creative and lovers of the arts to express and embrace the talents of the country.
From 16:00-23:00 Monday to Sunday free events will run and Brussels-based brewery BBP (Brussels Beer Project) will run on tap, providing craft-beer at all hours, rain and shine.
A Belgian connection
The programme flaunts 100% Belgian program and partners, hosting collectives and artists from Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, and Liège – namely feminist collective Game Ovaire Midnight Voodoo, Grow Collectif, and Fortune Collective.
Consisting of concerts, stand-up comedy, conferences, themed evenings, mini-festivals, family activities, and kids’ parties, the bulletin boats an endlessly good time.
May's line-up features the musical works of Afrobeats collective 21AM, mini-festival Game Ovaires, and Global Underground Music collective Rebel up, comedy shows, and DJ sets from Jam.zzaz.
Keep up to date with the programme here.
Concrete jungle
Run by cultural association Pali Pali, the previous year saw 6,000 visitors and 150 artists pass through the rooftop bar over the summer.
The jazz, soul, pop, disco, electro, rock, Latino, and R&B sounds will gain an extra level of atmospheric aura through the 'Forest in the Sky' themed scenography, curated by [21-28]°C Collective, Aboutt Atelier architects, and gardeners Plant en Houtgoed.
This will be accompanied by an echo of the 'When We See Us' exhibition.
Gear up for "rare grooves, heavy bass, and a dancefloor united by rhythm and resistance," with a side of signature cocktails all season long.
