Non-profit sector workers will protest in Brussels on Thursday, 22 May, following confirmation from union sources on Monday.
This protest is expected to be similar to the one on 7 November, when around 30,000 workers from the sector marched through the capital.
Nathalie Lionnet, federal secretary for the non-profit sector at Setca, stated there has been no progress since then. “We have no answers on end-of-career issues, and women are particularly affected by the new government’s measures,” she said.
Last autumn, workers in healthcare, social assistance, childcare, disability services, socio-cultural sectors, and education highlighted a general staff shortage leading to increased workloads and relentless working conditions.
“This is a genuine public health issue,” emphasised Ms Lionnet on Monday.
She also mentioned that the exact route for the 22 May demonstration is still being organised in coordination with the police.
