Brussels' Bozar Centre reveals groovy new season lineup

Brussels' Bozar Centre for Fine Arts has revealed its 2025-2026 season musical programme, packed to the brim with talent from near and far.

Encapsulated by the theme of “Embrace Complexity," the series invites the multi-faceted stories of musicians from a range of genres - including orchestra, soloists, opera, chamber music, jazz, global, electronic and everything else under the sun.

The season will stage festivals, interviews, old classics with a modern twist, shows by the resident orchestra, and a range of concerts from individual talents, including Lea Desandre, Sol Gabetta, Julia Wolf, Fennesz, and more.

"In Focus"

Desandre's operatic flair will be exhibited alongside lute player Thomas Dunford and his Jupiter Ensemble, and the Belgian National Orchestra in a selection of gigs embracing sounds from the 17th century to the modern day. The romantic sound of the French-Italian mezzo soprano who has demonstrated her versatility promises an unforgettable tribute to Julie Andrews performance in The Sound of Music, not to be missed.

Argentinean cellist and Natalia Gutman Award winner, Sol Gabetta working with her Cappella Gabetta ensemble will showcase classical music at the Bozar. Her performances will feature one of the foremost professional female cellists, Lisa Christiani, and will include masterpieces such as Elgar’s Cello Concerto.

Contrasting the more traditional features from the Bozar's programme, composer Julia Wolfe known for her folk-rock twist on compositions will stage revered arrangements of pieces from American history.

Australian-born electronic music innovator Fennesz will put on a selection of electro-acoustic performances with his "partner-in-crime," Jim O’Rourke in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the legendary Endless Summer album.

The festivals segment of the programme promises something to please all crowds - with the folk music Bartók Festival, electronic and contemporary Abrupt Festival, and combining the sounds of classical and jazz Klarafestival.

Twelve iconic compositions will grace the Bozar entitled "Echoes of the 20th Century," shining a spotlight on an array of sounds that open doors for experimentation  from the early 20th century to the current day.

The 'Concert Croissant' will give visitors the chance to take advantage of the unique breakfast and concert formula at the Henry Le Bœuf Hall, combining two of life's pleasures in a family-friendly setting.
