The Omer Vanaudenhove Pavilion in Brussels’ Parc du Cinquantenaire has been renamed the 'Pavi’On' following a comprehensive renovation.

Closed since a fire in 2021, the pavilion has reopened with freshly painted blue shutters and a design that aims to be both modern and welcoming, according to Brussels Mayor Philippe Close .

“New energy, new name, new identity: the Pavi’On symbolises action, dynamism, and inclusiveness, while remaining part of the living memory of the neighbourhood,” his office said.

Managed by the City’s community centres, the pavilion will offer social and cultural activities, in line with preparations for the bicentennial of Belgian independence in 2030.

The restoration, costing € 1 million, was completed in two phases: first with roofing and structural repairs, followed by a complete renovation inside and out.

The pavilion has been reinvented, becoming an open doorway to the city and a hub of cultural accessibility and community, Mayor Close emphasised.
