The victim of the stabbing that took place on Sunday afternoon in Antwerp has died from his injuries, the Antwerp Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed on Monday.
The incident took place in the Seefhoek neighbourhood.
The victim, a 32-year-old man, is said to have intervened when another man was harassing someone in a small square in Duinstraat. The man then allegedly turned on him.
The police were able to arrest a suspect shortly afterwards. The victim was resuscitated at the scene but later died in hospital.
