American tech giant, Meta, is now authorised to use posts from European Facebook and Instagram users to train its artificial intelligence (AI) software.
The company plans to utilise all public content, such as posts and photos, shared by adult users in the EU to enhance its AI models.
Recently, a German court dismissed a complaint from a consumer protection agency in North Rhine-Westphalia against this data processing.
Facebook and Instagram users previously received notifications explaining the types of data involved. European users had until 27 to opt-out.
