A dentist from Antwerp has been arrested for sexual violence. Police have so far identified 55 women as victims.
The 71-year-old dentist was arrested in April following an investigation that began in late 2024 after a formal complaint, Antwerp prosecutor’s office confirmed today.
Police searches of the dentist’s home and practice led to the seizure of computer equipment. Some footage allegedly shows him assaulting women during consultations under the guise of ‘throat disinfections’, a procedure that does not exist.
Additional victims have reported anal and vaginal examinations, touching of breasts and buttocks, and being present during the dentist’s masturbation. The earliest incidents of reported violence date back to 1998.
The suspect also practiced in different hospitals in Antwerp and Leuven.
Police urge any other potential victims to come forward, as some patients have claimed they were sedated and fear they were assaulted while unconscious.
The investigation aims to shed light on this part as well.
