In the third edition of the Gault&Millau Belgian Wine Guide and the Belgian Wine Awards 2025, it has been revealed that the leading wine estates in Belgium are located in Limburg and Namur.

Thirty Belgian wines were awarded prizes on Monday during the announcement at the Hôtel des Douanes in Brussels.

The Belgian wine sector is rapidly developing, with 24 new wine estates and 29 new references added in the latest edition of Gault&Millau. This brings the total to 123 wine producers and 236 references. Among these, the Belgian Wine Award 2025 saw 63 estates receiving the ‘coup de coeur’ ['favourite'] label, and 27 wines winning an award.

Belgium currently has 320 registered wine producers, and the industry continues to grow. "Together, they cultivate roughly 950 hectares of vineyards. Alongside this quantitative expansion, we are also observing a clear improvement in quality," stated Gault&Millau. With the new edition of the wine guide, Gault&Millau aims to remain the leading reference for Belgian wines.

Wine estates in Limburg and Namur are performing particularly well. Wijnkasteel Genoels-Elderen and Schorpion from Limburg received accolades, along with Kitsberg, Clos d’Opleeuw, and Gloire de Duras. In Namur, Domaine La Falize, Château Bon Baron, and Domaine du Ry D’Argent were recognised at the Belgian Wine Awards 2025.

Top wine estates also include Het Eiken Vat from Antwerp and Mikken Urban Winery and Monteberg from West Flanders. Hainaut is represented by Domaine du Chant d’Eole and Domaine Mont des Anges. Additionally, wine estates from Liège, East Flanders, and Walloon Brabant have successfully competed for titles.
