A wax statue of Emmanuel Macron was stolen from the Grévin Museum in Paris on Monday morning by Greenpeace activists and placed outside the Russian Embassy in protest against France’s economic ties with Russia, according to multiple sources.

A police source reported that two women and a man, posing as tourists, entered the museum located in the 9th arrondissement. After changing their attire to appear as workers or staff, they managed to steal the statue, valued at €40,000, by exiting through an emergency door.

The French President’s statue was then deposited outside the Russian Embassy in the 16th arrondissement, as observed by a journalist on the scene.

Jean-Francois Julliard, Executive Director of Greenpeace France, stated, "For us, France plays a double game," adding that Emmanuel Macron represents this duplicity by supporting Ukraine while encouraging French businesses to continue trading with Russia.

He further emphasised that Emmanuel Macron is specifically targeted due to his significant responsibility in this situation, stating, "He should be the first in European discussions" to end trade agreements between Russia and European countries.
