One person died in a fire in Haasrode, Flemish Brabant, on Friday, the local police reported.
A second victim required resuscitation at the scene.
The fire was reported at approximately 9:30 on Friday. The emergency services promptly arrived at the scene.
The blaze was brought under control by around 10:20.
During their search of the residence, firefighters found two victims.
One victim was resuscitated at the scene however, the other did not survive.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The Leuven Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation.
