On Friday evening, a driver crashed into a house in Deux-Acren, part of the Lessines municipality in Hainaut, according to firefighters on Saturday.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 20:00 to a serious road accident on Rue d’en Bas in the village of Deux-Acren. Rescuers from Rebaix (Ath) and a medical unit from Geraardsbergen in East Flanders were dispatched to the scene.
The driver was alone in the car, and no other parties were involved. “For an unknown reason—possibly a medical episode—the woman lost control of her vehicle while navigating a bend,” explained Captain Éric Stasik, who led the operation. “The car crashed into a building with extreme force.”
Once freed from the wreckage by firefighters, the severely injured driver received stabilisation from emergency medical personnel. She was then transported to a hospital in the Geraardsbergen area.
